The Brief
For my final major project, I wanted to persue my interest in film posters after my horror film poster project that I had previously completed. I discovered that the Electric theatre in Birmingham was to begin a new evening every month showing a cult film. This was to be known as Cult Film Friday and I sprang upon the chance to create the logo and posters for the event.
The Electric Cinema
I contacted the cinema but unfortunatelty they weren't very forthcoming in providing information about the films being shown and so I decided, since time was of the essence, to invent the films that were being shown myself based on my knowledge of cult films.
6 Films, 6 Months, 6 Posters
So I chose 6 cult films to be shown over 6 months and began researching each film thoroughly as well as other posters. I finally developed and produced a poster for each film, each with a common layout as to maintain a series to be shown in the cinema itself.
Trailer
I then produced a trailer for the film festival which would be shown before showings at the cinema.
